"Ang tigas ng ulo ng Nanay at Tatay ko"

It was a busy day for me at the office and I'm quite exhausted. On my way home, I was sitting at the front seat of the jeepney when it suddenly came to stop because of traffic. Instead of getting mad and loose my temper, I decided to look around to keep my mind away from traffic when suddenly something caught my eyes on the side of the street. A man wearing dirty rugged clothes together with his son scavenging on the dark portion of the sidewalk. I really hate to see such people in this kind of state. Everytime I saw people on the street begging for money I usually give them whatever I have (usually food) except for money hoping that it can make a difference with my own little way. I realized how lucky I was compared to that filthy man to have this kind of life where in I was able to finished a degree on college and work for a company that offers above minimum rate of salary. Good thing "Matigas ang ulo ng Nanay at Tatay ko" by forcing me to go to school and study. I realized how stupid I am to be so stubborn to them before. Instead of listening and taking their sermons and advices I chosed to be rebellious by doing things which are contrary to them. Now I'm so thankful to them for working so hard for me and for my siblings in able for us to have this life. It just made me sick to think that there are other people who wasn't able to realized how lucky are they to have a chance to study and finish a degree while there are some who needs to stay late at night not to work in a call center company but to look for a heap of garbage just to make a living. I hope other people who keeps on complaining with their jobs realize that there are others who wish to be on their foot. I hope they may realize na "Matigas din ang ulo ng Nanay at Tatay nila"
